At SacBusiness, we use two companies to manage your website addresses, otherwise known as domain names. Those companies are called Registrars and their names are Hover and Moniker. There are times when the contact information for the ownership of a domain name needs to be changed at Hover. When that is done, an email goes out to the email address of the updated contact. The message looks similar to the example below.

Do not ignore this message. It is very important that the contact change be confirmed by clicking the link presented. If you don't, then the Registrar (Hover in this case) will suspend your domain after 15 days of waiting. I know this is crazy but we're dealing with the Internet bureaucracy. Fortunately, this is a rare event so you needn't worry about it.

As of January 1, 2014, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) has mandated that all ICANN accredited registrars begin verifying the WHOIS contact information for all new domain registrations and Registrant contact modifications.

The following Registrant contact information for one or more of your domains has not yet been verified:

Please click the link below to verify the Registrant email address. You have a 15-day window from the time of the contact change to verify the email address. After 15 days, the domain(s) associated with this Registrant contact will be suspended until the e-mail address is verified.

By verifying your email address, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to the Registration Agreement.
